Honestly, I get it, and I sympathize with the authors, and yeah, it's unfair to them. But remember, the world is unfair to you too. The information is gatekept from you, entertainment is kept away from you because you are in an unfortunate place where you can't pay for it. "But if you don't have money, don't consume it"—are the people who have money the only ones allowed to enjoy life? If we are not allowed to travel, read books, watch movies, etc., why are we here?

You are not a bad person for consuming pirated content, and you are not a good person for it either. It's an unfortunate situation that doesn't have a solution.

I think it's important to remember that entertainment is not a need, it's a pleasure. You won't be depriving yourself of anything by not pirating. I think the biggest issue is there are people who can afford it who don't, not the people who can't. The people who can't, even if they stopped pirating, they still wouldn't buy anything because they literally cannot. They don't harm sales, because they don't make sales.
