Not as interesting as some of the other theories here and probably won't make sense if you're not Australian, but I 100% believe the CIA was involved in Whitlams dismissal, and urged Kerr (who possibly had connections with CIA funded right-wing parties) to get rid of Whitlam due to his stances on Pine Gap.
