sometimes I wish if there was side couple story for some characters, they are so sweet it's a shame not to see them more on the screen or happy   reply

I prefer them over the main couple 80% of the time tbh   reply

i think they're alright only if they dont have too much screen time. bcuz at that point, the author should just make a new one for them. occasionally i find myself rooting more for the side couple than the main   reply

Since I don't read trash like BJ Alex, usually the main couple in what I read is good and the side couples are just extras that I'm not all that interested in. Most side couples are mid by default because the author didn't spend so much time on them. Of course, that relies on the author's 'spent time' being productive and not BJ Alex.
