What would you do in this situation

You’re realizing the people you thought cared about you only care about your accomplishments and don’t acknowledge you as a person. They are the only people you can depend on and you know if you fail they will start distancing themselves from you. You’re constantly gaslighted by their kindness and since they seem so genuine you find it hard to accept reality. Without them, you have nobody, but staying with them still hurts because deep down you know the truth.
Will you try and pretend like nothing has changed and live with the pressure and risk of getting hurt if you fail? Or would you distance yourself from them acknowledging the relationship meant nothing to them even if you’re alone again.

I immediately cut off anyone that brings me sadness even if I end up all alone. I'm very comfortable with solitude. The only person I depend on is my mom and she won't treat me differently for failing something so I don't have to worry about having to cut her off my life 1 reply

Im in that situation rn... well correct term is "was" but im still staying loving them and it hurts my other relationships. They made it clear to me that we don't have the same kind of "like" and tbh ig i could say is leave? you need people to care about YOU and thats healthy. I could never cut off someone i let them do it first so they're peaceful. Like certain ppl i let them be happy for their sake sure it hurts me but what can i do? they wont do the same thing to me where they'll give you a 2nd chance. They'd only do that once im dead cause they're just that type of people. reply
