As the title suggests, the friend I told to end their life actually went through with it. I’m overwhelmed with shame and guilt. They didn’t deserve to die, but they believed they did—because of my words. I had no idea they valued and trusted what I said so deeply. I feel like a terrible person for saying something so cruel, never thinking they’d take it seriously.

Joke or not i hope you take this as a lesson. A friend's words actually mean alot to people because you are a FRIEND. Idk the context of this but I assume you guys had a fight and you ended up saying that cus they wouldn't do that if yall were just kidding around either way be careful with your words specially if its leaning to suicide. reply

if you didn't know what they were going through and you thought it'd be okay as a joke, then it's not really your fault. if they don't tell you anything and they never had any real signal about anything suicidal, then it's really something else that made them kill themselves and it has very little to do with you. one person telling someone else ...... 1 reply
