childhood friends to lovers trope... for some reason i used to really like that trope whether for straight romance or BL. it's not like i was projecting or anything i don't have any childhood friends that i had a crush on. i think younger me had a very idealized version of what love should be like (pure, youthful) and i wanted to fantasize about it......
