Can I make a confession?
I’m making the confession anyway. On this site and another illegal manga site I frequent, I noticed a certain manga was popular. Typically I don’t keep track of this bc i honestly don’t care, but today, on mangago of all places I saw this same manga trending.
I haven’t read the manga and based on what I’ve heard about it (including how it’s promoted) I have zero plans to read it. It’s promoted in the same way chainsaw man was promoted and I do NOT like chainsaw man.
Anyway, the confession is, I don’t like how a certain manga gets super popular on these sites WHEN THE ANIME COMES OUT.
The anime is cool, animation is cool, it looks so interesting. That doesn’t mean the actual story is interesting. Going back to chainsaw man, I caved to peer pressure (boo hoo cry me a river) but the story in an actual critical sense (and not just what I prefer to read) was not interesting. Same with the animation. I mean it’s different but that doesn’t mean I care for it. (Specifically chainsaw man’s animation was a 3D animation style I’ve seen before. It was cool to see it mass produced in an anime… that didn’t make it good.)
Anywayyy I just really don’t like how a manga will get an anime and these illegal reading sites will have a large influx of viewers for the anime watchers that want to read the manga first,
I don’t like it because that makes it easier for the official publication to find these sites. And
Well
A good song never dies (even if you can’t access it anymore)
Of course it’s going to gain traction if the anime gets released
The anime for Dandadan is made with lots of love and honestly it’s one of the few “new gen” animes I’ve actually watched and really enjoyed. People feel the same as me and went to read the manga
However, Chainsaw man was popular on here BEFORE the anime was even teased to c......
