The most obvious example is probably Roses and Champagne where it was a halfway decent mafia crime story and then he shoots the ml, kidnaps him, and proceeds to nearly rape him to death in the course of a week. And then they did a stupid fucking fake out death that destroyed the entire purpose of that shitty Rome analogy and they lived happily ever......
