Enemies in real life

Guys--- I finally figured out why I hate enemies to lovers

Don't get me wrong, I still like rivals to lovers because ultimately it makes more sense to me and the shared goal just makes me go KISS ALREADY

(I am feeling the controversy brewing)

And my reason is: I also have an enemy in real life!! And it sucks me DRY mentally to consider a week where anything remotely friendly happens to us. He is conventionally well built and good looking, you can say he's willful and driven to his professional goals, on the surface the guy is alright but everyone knows he's arrogant and opportunistic

My problem: said enemy and I always end up in the same fucking group in university (I only have this year left but he seems to consider studying overseas and my parents are also pushing ME to do so... The odds of which country we'll go isn't on my side)

But in enemies to lovers logic that is no problem

I think somewhere in my brain it just juxtaposed my experiences with fiction and is rejecting the story cuz EWWWWWWWWWWWWW
