How to break up?

Pleaseeeee!!! I need help. Basically, I started dating this guy a little less than 2 years now. We started off as friends and then it escalated. I love him but just not in the way he may feel about me. I wanna be friends still, but the spark or whatever you wanna call it (lust?) isn't there. I don't want to hurt his feelings (he is prone to getting sad), but I also don't want to continue lying to him and myself. So, how would one go about breaking up with someone but still wanting them in their life, but just as a friend? ┗( T﹏T )┛

This might be a bit rough but... My advice is hurt him (tell him) as soon as possible, the faster the better... You'd hurt him sooner or later anyway, srry.

If you still want to have him in your life, my advice is after you broke up, don't contact AT ALL to give each other some time (my past relationships is 6-12 month of no contact at all), and if both of you moved on you can try again being friends. At least this is the way me, an internet person, do it, so take it with a grain of salt.

And yeah communication is a key in a relationship and stuff.

Ya, I want to tell him asap, but the thing is his birthday was a couple of days ago, so I don't wanna be that b**** who breaks up with someone on/close to the other person's birthday. His gift is still shipping, and we havent actually celebrated it yet. UGH I feel like the worst person. I want to communicate, just the timing of all this is really the most difficult part.

Oh man, very understandable. Don't feel bad about yourself bub, if any i think you're a nice person to ask other people advice how not to hurt your guy. What's the best timing in your opinion right now?
