Pleaseeeee!!! I need help. Basically, I started dating this guy a little less than 2 years now. We started off as friends and then it escalated. I love him but just not in the way he may feel about me. I wanna be friends still, but the spark or whatever you wanna call it (lust?) isn't there. I don't want to hurt his feelings (he is prone to getting sad), but I also don't want to continue lying to him and myself. So, how would one go about breaking up with someone but still wanting them in their life, but just as a friend? ┗( T﹏T )┛

As straightforwardly as possible. Be clear with your intentions. Don't be vague, it might give him hope. Give him the space he needs to get over you. It might take a while before you two could be friends again but it's better than completely cutting off the relationship, if that is what you want. Ngl it’s very unlikely you can continue being their friend. They are the ones that have feelings for you and it gets messy when only one person has romantic feelings and the other has not. The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago and for me I found that I had to be completely honest or he wouldn't let me leave (￣∇￣") which turned into him being really mad and posting our breakup on his social media and calling me out my name so we couldn't exactly be friends 1 reply

I’ve been in the same situation !! and let me tell you it didn’t end nicely... he asked to still be friends and I said okay thinking MAYBE POSSIBLY we could be friends but... he was way too clingy after (it was like we didn’t even break up) and kinda stalker-ish too.
