I am a biologist so I will try and learn R. I know a little bit C++ and love it. R is very useful in bioinformatics. You can give it a try if you're into biological sciences.   reply

I’d recommend learning both, but you can definitely specialize in Python if you want! Python is pretty common because EVERYONE loves it, lol. I haven’t entered the job market yet, but from what I’ve heard it’s quite common for people to continue learning new languages throughout their career. I think in college you'll be learning both language programs from what my two friends who are IT students said iirc.
