Ok just him having this opinion is really weird. But if he does eventually get a gf and he tells her beforehand "I wouldn't want any hand made gifts ever cuz I find them impartical". Yes it’s definitely a red flag. It's not just he is being practical. He is not appreciating the efforts that goes into making handmade gifts. Anyone who doesn’t appreciate any kind of effort is a red flag 1 reply
It kinda screams that he doesn't consider himself deserving enough to receive something that has so much efforts, feelings and time put into hence he'd rather reject it than feel burdened by someone's feelings and not be able to reciprocate it equally.
