Sisters

Have you noticed siblings that are two women are often villainized? Or one of them ends up getting hated by the readers? Well I do, and it's tiring to see it at this point. I came across a comment replying to a Tiktok post saying: "Is the sister evil?" And that got me into a realization. FMC in manhwas, especially if they're a transmigrator, often have a sister who are their enemy. Whether that sister is possessed, got replaced by the FMC, or just naturally hates the FMC, it all leads to that sister being the "villain" or one of the antagonist. Sibling dynamics in stories are underrated. Whenever I read historical manhwas, it's often focused on romance. That isn't to say that it's inherently bad, but it gets tiring for a while. Why not add something new? When a well written sibling dynamic in a story exists, it overshadows the romance for me. Maybe that's why I don't see it often.
