at a bar, summer night in 2024

Went to this bar for the first time with a friend. Saw the back of this bartender first, initially thought the frizzy hair showed some strong personality, which wasn’t my type. Then she turned around and I realized I was wrong. Round face and round features, plus the bartender outfit and her polite, professional mannerism.
I wanted to tell her that she looked good, but the bar was busy, and for the very few times she did pass near my seating area, my friend kept yapping and i couldn’t focus on calming myself down enough to start talking to her, not even a word. Eventually, after a bathroom break, I managed to pass by her, asked for the wifi password and then told her that she was pretty. She just politely answered thank you, and I had to act like it was nothing and returned to my seat. At the end of my stay there, I had to wait outside the entrance while my friend paid the tab bcus I was still super nervous whenever I simply looked at her.
Never have I gay panicked that hard. It wasn’t really love, but more like adoration.
