Mangas Vs. Manhwa

Not sure if im the only one but anyone else miss when this website was predominantly Mangas instead of Manhwas? Dont get me wrong I love a good Manhwa and I think they can be great (Killer Stalkes will always be my first love and currently obsessed with Wetsand) but I miss the BW vibe of a Japenese Manga. The Japanese culture effects the plot, setting and characters in ways I enjoy vs the korean manhwas which just have a different vibe. I still see a lot of Manga on here but compared to Manhwa it's 10 to 1. Love them both just wish there was a filter that separated the two types.

This doesnt separate manga vs manhwa specifically, but since manhwa are predominately webtoons, if you 'x' out the webtoon option when searching the yaoi genre (or any genre you're looking for), you will get majority manga stories. I've found myself utilizing this a lot these days because ngl manhwa starting to bore me. 1 reply

I actually feel the same. I find myself going back to some of my old fav mangas because all I find new are manhwas. I like both but sometimes I just want one more than the other. 1 reply

I feel you absolutely. Manga will always have better and more refined storytelling. Manga art and writing has been honed for several generations and is highly enriched by culture that is why it will always be objectively better because its been refined throughout decades and theres even dedicated schools for manga writing.
