you'll be aware of the braces against the inside of your lips when you first get them on but you'll get used to it, kinda like contacts if you've had them. it can hurt sometimes but they'll give you wax to put over any brackets/parts that are irritating your mouth so it's not a huge deal.
the braces are moving your teeth into place so it'll hurt, ......
