The pain will last for a week when you first get them on. From then onward the pain will come and go since every appointment they put a new wire tighten, change some things around and may start adding rubber bands to fix a overbite or underbite. any hard food are primarily a no so stick to soft foods on your first week or two until you get used to ......   2 reply

Your orthodontist will answer all of these when you get them and with actual backed evidence, I promise. They won't last longer than they need to if you eat softish, non-sticky foods, brush twice a day, and avoid breaking the brackets. If you don't want braces AGAIN, wear your retainer every. single. day. And pain is subjective but it typically won......   reply

It's been a while since I had braces but things probably haven't changed that much. The process of getting them put on will probably be uncomfortable. Once they're on, your jaw and teeth may be a bit sore for a few weeks but it shouldn't hurt that much. You'll probably get wires changed occasionally and it'll hurt again for a bit after. If you have......   1 reply

Be prepared for the pain (that lasts at maximum for a week when they tighten the wire and no pain medication has ever helped me) and the weird feeling of having braces for the first time. I ate everything I wanted (carefully though) and never broke anything. I also brushed my teeth normally but it might depend on your situation. Just be cautious an......   reply

Don't leave food (especially sweets) stuck in your braces for too long (the water flosser will fix this is in a jiffy, awesome right). If you are expected to wear rubber bands—oh boy—the pain from that will possibly be irritating as h......   1 reply

you'll be aware of the braces against the inside of your lips when you first get them on but you'll get used to it, kinda like contacts if you've had them. it can hurt sometimes but they'll give you wax to put over any brackets/parts that are irritating your mouth so it's not a huge deal. the braces are moving your teeth into place so it'll hurt, ......   reply

some people are lucky even if they don’t listen to the orthodontist but that’s not always the case imo I knew people who had prolonged their treatment bc they weren’t wearing their rubber bands and shi, others ended up getting an infection bc they weren’t brushing their teeth, like we all got braces around the same time lol. don’t stress ......   reply
