It's not wrong nor right imo. There isn't a lot of media with good writing for the female characters but I like to console myself with the thought that for fiction, authors usually tend to fit their characters into archetypes so they're most likely always going to be lacking depth.
PLUS! There is usually a lot of pushback and criticism on female ......
