Distracting yourself doesn't mean getting out of depression but I think the best way to get out of itis taking care of yourself and seeing things in a different perspective. I let it fester into anger then crash out just to realize I’m fucking tweaking and it ain’t that serious so I need chill out think about why I feel the way I do and how I ended up where I am then continue on with my day to hopefully stop the pattern or at least make a change in the cycle, but that’s just me idk.   1 reply

I faced it right on. I mean I think I'm still kinda depressed to be quite honest but definitely not as much as I used to be. I used to rely a lot on the people around me to self sooth but as it turns out one of the big reasons why I was depressed is because of those very same people lol not great. in my experience the only thing that really worked was meds. at least with the "there is absolutely nothing wrong but i still feel like shit and cant get out of bed bc my dopamine levels are fucked up" depression, i assume its different if its caused by the environment youre living in   reply

Going to my therapist works for me, cus it makes me realize how my whole childhood is literally an example on how to give your kid depression, part 1.
