Help me clean up my TBR!!!! I am currently trying to delete some stuff because i know i won't have the time to read them all and some stuff probably is bad or doesn't interest me anymore. Now I'm struggling so much because everything is there for a reason and I cannot differentiate what's good and what isn't!!! So please, if you are bored and have the time tell me what I should take off of my tbr. https://www.mangago.me/home/people/210012/manga/1/
I don’t understand why are you letting other people decide for you what’s good and what’s bad. It’s all subjective. Don’t you have your own taste, preferences? One’s yum could be another person’s yuck. 2 reply

On the contrary! If you tend to be narrow-minded because a detail bothers you, the opinion of others helps a lot. By myself I would have missed several of my now favorites ^^
Whether something is worth reading or not, personally for me, I decide it myself after reading it or checking tags from MU to see if certain things are to my preference or not, and don’t let others’ opinions, ratings, and reviews decide it for me what’s worth reading or not. I’m open to recommendations since it’s like exploring new stuff, and exploring stuff is what I do. I just don’t understand when ppl let other folks judgment/opinions decide whether something is worth reading or not.
If somebody said, don’t read this stuff it’s no good, I would still check it myself to decide if it’s really good or not. Coz what one might not like, others can like. Since everyone has different tastes and preferences.

When did I say I let others dictate what I read and watch?
It's not "let others decide for you" it's seeing what others liked that I might have missed. You and I are not omnipresent and infallible, we can inevitably miss things. Maybe less valid here than elsewhere, but generally the crowd is a good indicator.
Blindly following recommendations is as bad as being stubborn and that's not what my comment was saying.
This works the same way recommendations work (: I simply have too much on my tbr and some things I don't know why I added them and since I haven't read them idk if I like them. If I want to read something that people here don't like I will still keep it on my list but there's so many I am unsure about if they are worth it and hearing other people's opinions is helpful, especially since some of this stuff has been there for more than 5 years. An example would be July found by chance, which has been recommended to me AGAIN so I won't take it off my list - otherwise I probably would have.

I'm the same!! Some things look boring and ordinary on the outside but hearing what exactly a person liked about it can give more input
