If they are truly a kind non racist person, being told "Hey that thing you said hurt me/is racist/makes me uncomfortable...." will not be a problem...
If a kind person says something wrong or offensive unintentionally, that person will be happy, that you said something to them or cleared it up for them. If however they get angry or claim it isn't......
