By your question I'm assuming your young, ao here's an advice from someone — probably — 10ish older: don't stress too much about deciding on a career path, the path will show to you eventually. BUT, it seems that you have a time-line to make an inicial decision, so here's my take on it, after I've struggled with finding my own career path for ......   3 reply

I'm finishing college this year, so i can tell you this: when i was in high school, i remember a lot of people were trying to decide what they wanted based on what they would learn in college. And that's always a bad way to make that decision. You need to think about whether or not you'll enjoy working in that field and if it'll pay you enough for ......   1 reply

I’ll answer for my husband bc when I went to uni, I changed majors. (I became an art major) He was always interested in space. Always always always. I watched boring space launches with him bc I love him. He majored in aerospace engineering, which is the degree to get if you want to do technical space stuff. He’s good at math and programming (......   1 reply

Aight I'm gonna guess this is for a school assignment or somethin so I'll bite back my sarcastic response (poverty chose my "career"). I'm on the back half of my 30s and in that time this's what I've learned about "careers": they don't exist. Someone could spend 20 years doing one thing and pivot and do something else for 20 more years, then pivot ......   1 reply

1. Be realistic. It’s important to make enough money to keep a sturdy roof over your head, good food on the table, clean clothes on your back, and garnering a retirement fund. Unless you’re hella passionate about something and are strong willed, then you may be able to go the “poor artist” route. 2. Look for careers that consists of more ......   1 reply

Honestly I just picked randomly, I like money so I chose business (how typical of a business student) but I think I was so chill about it because I know that college isn't the sole foundation of my future, it helps for sure but it definitely isn't the only way to make a career for yourself. Choose what aligns with your interest or with your situati......   1 reply

I was once a clueless highschool student before like I didn't even care about my future. I've always loved anything related to mathematics, since it's my fav subject since 1st grade. When my friends and I were talking about college programs, I couldn't tell them anything bc I had no idea which career path I should take. But then my friend told me "......   1 reply

I never knew what I wanted to be when I was older. Always jealous of people who were born with a plan or nurturing their talent into a career path. I watched a detective show when I was 15 or so and decided then I wanted to become a police officer. I'm not 'fit' enough for it but this I only learned 2 years later when I thought about looking into i......   1 reply

I'm kinda in the same boat but I'll share some advice from an old high school teacher that changed the way I approached career searching: What fo you spend the most time thinking about? For him, it was physics, so he became a physical teacher. For me, I find myself thinking a lot about public transit and infrastructure, so I've been looking at car......   1 reply
