I’d wait, mainly cuz unofficial trans has killed too many of my brain cells. Plus, sometimes the plot kind of erases with unofficial trans (E.G teen Manhua). So many plots have been labeled as ‘bad’ or ‘bland’ because of bad translations. I would prefer something I can enjoy over convenience. But I’m the type of person to go for quality......   reply

Tbh unofficial one. This goes for anime subs too. If they are of good quality they are made with so much love and passion and it doesn't just feel like a job. They make the work to add explanations for cultural references and sometimes funny tl notes. Anime subs used to have sing alongs for the op and Eds, now you're lucky if you even get a transl......   1 reply

If the translation is readable then I ll read any one. To be honest sometimes unofficial translation is better than the official. For example take Hosik's story..   reply

Oh hell nah, i always wait for either the officials or the good scans team to pick it up, but sometimes the official is even worse than the unofficial (for Chinese manhuas especially) so then I just go for the better one   reply

I prefer late official tranlations more. I appreciate the people who go out of their way to translate with machine translation (google translate), but I'd prefer a translation from an official translation/scanlation group since half of the time, mtl doesn't make sense. Maybe it's just me, but the broken english also breaks my brain. Fonts are fine ......   reply

Unofficial translations are nice when the translation is good but I worry sometimes that I’m too ahead with the unofficial translation that when the officials do come out they end up dropping it. Which means I’d have to wait months just for it to catch up again   reply

Okay firstly, official translations are not always contextually useful and honestly, as long as I understand idrc because they gets across. It's for people who don't speak English as their first language where this is a problem that bad translations make one want to puke. Like, I know the question, but GOOD translations are pretty rare. There's ju......   1 reply

Honestly idrc as long as it's not teen manga level I'm fine with mti as I'm just so used to broken english my brain auto corrects the sentence BUT I love it when an unofficial translation like adds the meanings of traditional traditions, food, celebrations, references used in the chapter. Etc etc I guess translations like that actually go under off......   reply
