that's like asking why new BL readers are equally weird. weirdness is weirdness; people like junjou romantica in the same way people like jinx now. for the same reasons readers like jinx now, they liked junjou romantica. there's isn't some magical difference between the two, and it isn't like new BL readers are any better, you just don't intera......   2 reply

It's cuz when they start enjoying bl with problematic tropes their brain development ceases and you're left with a mentally immature adult who fiddles the stick to their gay goon material   reply

I’m in this picture, minus the insult of others. I genuinely love how much people have come to become sexual health advocates, for consent and for recognizing violence for what it is. But I do have the brain rot, and I can explain it more thoroughly than “it’s just fiction”. I have been a Queer anime fan since I was a child. I wasn’t ......   reply

I don't wanna sound old with this but it's say it anyway. Back in the day cancel culture was no where near as common as it is now so people reading problematic shit was never really addressed. This caused bl readers who support pedophilia rape e.t.c to believe that what they ingested was normal as nobody was calling them out on it . Aswell a the fa......   1 reply

I think it's because the BL community has changed a lot in the past decade, much more so in the past 20 years. I started reading in middle school and I am an adult of legal drinking age in the US now so I guess it's been enough time that I can call myself a longtime BL reader. I remember back then I was recommended a lot of series like Yarichin Bit......   3 reply

Reading content that contains explicit material from a young age is proved to affect development and is more possible for the person to develop fetishes or behaviors they were depicted, it’s the fact that they have been consuming the for a long time, they have normalized the contents of it, and when someone challenges the way you view stuff some ......   reply

Ok I've been reading BL for about 10 years, I'm 25 now, and I can safely say I do NOT defend that shit. I've seen it enough that it doesn't phase me as much but that doesn't mean I enjoy it or defend it. It pisses me off and lately I've been dropping manwhas that have rape or too much toxicity, or I avoid them altogether. Please don't lump us in al......   1 reply

THIS IS ABOUT SOME OLD READERS HERE️️ 1. They grew up with a different catalogue of mangas than new readers have now. Older mangas normalized fucking crimes so some of them have a different brain chemistry. 2. They feel superior, ig? Reading men fiddling each other when you haven't graduated high school yet is not what you're supposed to be p......   reply

Well a lot of BL authors are straight women and a lot of straight women have grown up reading typical romance stories and these romance stories have had a lot of the same tropes. So in my opinion it’s just them repeating the same patterns in their work. I’m sure being introduced to fanfics, wattpad stories and the like very early plays into a l......   reply
