Seeing how you're writing about a dark topic, the worse thing you could do is come across as an edge lord, because no one wants to read something by an edgy teen. Writer here, we learned this in elementary school. You need a beginning, middle, and end. Follow the charts if you get confused, research, and don’t write to fulfill shallow tropes. Most tropes have an underlying message, look for that. Make sure you read other books of the genre. Reading is key. It takes time and effort. It’ll probably take ye......   reply

I haven’t written anything myself so I don’t have any proper tips but the way you described the kind of book you want to write reminded me of ‘The Bluest Eye’ by Toni Morrison so it might be worth a read to see how other authors did a dark story like that.   reply
