REALLY CONTROVERSIAL RANT.
honestly i've been suppressing this for a long time but i feel like it's time to let it out, just can't contain it in anymore after reading the comments under " Kimi to Deattekara Boku wa".
i'm just so annoyed and irritated at some of the mangagoers and their "holier than thou" attitude, those who think they're morally better than everyone else. they hate on ppl who say " if you’re not able to differentiate between reality and fiction, why read it in the first place?" saying that kids who might read them and think shit like that would be okay to do it irl as well (eg: rape). like i could just casually write a story abt genocide, murder and all other atrocities which can be committed in this world, and WOULD PPL ACTUALLY IMITATE WHAT SOME CHARACTER IN A STORY WOULD DO??? do ppl not have a conscience, or the ability to distinguish between what's right and wrong and what is fiction remain fiction?? fiction is literally only an outlet. THERE'S A FINE LINE between fiction and reality, sure some sick fucks might think it'd be ok to cross that line and if you're one of those sick fucks- GET HELP, MY DUDE.
though i also do not completely agree w the " if you’re not able to differentiate between reality and fiction, why read it in the first place?" statement, cuz a LOT of tropes give me the ick (INCEST, PEDOPHILIA, ETC). when i don't like a certain work, i just quietly leave cuz i don't wanna disturb somebody's reading exp who likes that certain work or if HAVE to comment abt it, i just say "UGH CONTAINS ***, I'M OUT." y'all legit don't have to write whole ass essays and bitching on ppl and try to "correct" them, like bro STFU, if you don't like it, LEAVE. ain't no one's stopping you.
ALSO you're reading from an ILLEGAL website, y'all don't really have the right to speak about morals. anyways, if you think this is ragebait, up to you cuz i am DEF raging here.
I agree w u on "fiction is an outlet" but if someones "outlet" is drawing child p#rnography then im gonna say something, thats my 2 cents

i think authors are fully responsible for what they decide to share with the world but some people here really need to realize that reading manga with taboo stuff =/= reading it specifically bc you like the taboo stuff
like i've read YBC and rly enjoyed it bc i love some of the characters. is it problematic? absolutely. would i rather it didnt hav......

I hate the "don't like don't read" mentality, it's just an excuse to avoid criticism. People can read things they don't like and discuss it. Comment sections are a free space for anyone to comment whatever they want, yes including negative things. There's a system for rating and reviewing on this website, meaning you are allowed to and supposed to ......

The whole thing is dumb to me. I’m a writer, and including sensitive themes and dark messages is often necessary. It’s a way to 1. get a reaction from the reader, 2. make the reader want to root for the character, thus continue reading it, and 3. make a story more interesting and gripping. (Of course, in some cases, a plot point isn’t needed.......

Don't really know anything about the manga you're talking about but I hope posting this rant was cathartic in some ways for you.
My personal thought, I guess, is that people do have the right to talk about morals, whether they're doing something that is generally viewed immoral or not. Morality isn't universal after all. Just that. Have a great da......

I'm really getting annoyed at these rants that are written like an ADD riddled 12-year old chimp wrote them. Use capital letters the way you're supposed to, using them only to emphasize words is just obnoxious, use because instead of cuz you hick, stop shortening words to only three or fewer letters, that's just lazy and immature. This feels like w......

Also something I've noticed is that you can have the most heinous heterosexual pairing and the comments rarely comment on it as long as the man is the one being violent or abusive. But the moment there's a femdom story where not everything is contractualised and 100% above board, the comments (and sometimes the translator themselves) will shit on i......

as a girlypop who reads practically ANYTHING, i'll give my two cents...
i dislike the whole "you guys can't differentiate btwn reality and fiction" comments, because when a lot of ppl perceive a character as unlikeable (and not interesting enough to be a "good" unlikeable character), fans jump to the idea that people just don't like the character......

Agreed. Honestly just gotta ignore them even tho they’re annoying. Some people got too much time on their hands.
You come to an illegal site for entertainment, find what entertains you, engage with it, leave. Not that hard.
Also I didn’t read the story in question but I just went and checked it out and it has a trope I’m not fond of: stude......

yeah i agree with you completely! i think it's okay for ppl to share their differing opinions ofc, but people forget to be at least mildly respectful, and that reading abt taboo things in fiction does not equal to condoning it irl at all
