Therapy helps a lot. My sister got out of a 10 years depression with therapy. People against therapy usually say "you could just talk to your friends" but that's not true, therapists have tools that can help you process and heal. Of course, it's possible to not go to therapy and manage, but that's what my dad did with his trauma, and it's impacting......   reply

I agree with the people here who say it varies. If you go against your will it won't work. If you really want help it works, but you also have to make sure you have a therapist who cares. I know of many therapists that just book talking sessions for you to vent and never give you any tools to get better, so that you keep on coming in. Luckily that ......   reply

I only got 2 sessions (and didn’t even get to start CBTherapy) bc it was for students & I graduated so now I’m on another waiting list, but my therapist was so good and supportive that I started crying and didn’t stop the entire first session. Was just talking thru the tears. Like having such a calm and safe and supportive environment just so......   reply

You have to find a good therapist. That's all. Those who've had poor therapy experiences likely were stuck with horrible, poorly trained therapists or a therapist that wasn't right for them. Therapy isn't a one-size-fits-all all--and even if it's good, it's not 100% success rate. But if you find a good therapist who can truly understand your proble......   1 reply

It varies, but, as long as you have a competent therapist, it usually does help. I suggest you at least go a couple of times and see how you feel about it :))   reply

Personally, therapy didn't help me at all. The only therapist I ever saw basically told me that my fear of rejection is unfounded since I never got bullied and my social anxiety isn't THAT bad cuz I can still function, right? As long as I have a job and go to school, it's fine (yay thanks). I was only looking for reassurance that I'm not making it ......   reply

it depends. You need to be willing to work on ur issues, you also need to be willing to let out your thoughts and feelings and not lie or else therapy won’t work because the therapist will have a different goal in mind for you when it’s not something you need help with. You need to find a therapist that suits you!! trust me sometimes it might n......   reply

Actual therapy does. But finding a good one requires hard work. Firstly, research about psychotherapy. They will give you a non judging free environment to talk about your problems, make you comfortable and be empathetic Psychological tests will be conducted before any diagnosis Then your therapist will decide on a mode of therapy and number of se......   reply
