I'm gonna clarify what I meant; depth is good when it actually adds depth, not when it's a half hearted attempt to smooth out a shitty ml's rougher edges and make them more palatable. That's when the confusion sets in, why are people defending this character because of their backstory when that backstory just exists to deflect hate from a character......
