QUESTION! (how the flip do I word this…)
So…
Does a person who was born with an inherently bad mentality, but was only ever a good person because that’s what they wanted for himself and those around him, deserve happiness? (so like they never did anything bad despite having the mentality to do so) For example, let’s say there was a person (this is gonna be an extreme example
) who, for whatever reason, knew he would enjoy the act of taking lives, but didn't and never would want to because, basically put, he wanted to be a good person, (to which he succeeded in doing) still deserve happiness? (like the right to love himself and the joy of living, things of that nature)

as long as they're not hurting anyone in any way and go out of their way to make people happy they definitely deserve happiness. i'm curious as to what their motivation for being a good person is if not empathy though (assuming someone who enjoys killing people would need to have a serious lack of it), religion maybe?
