Anyone else who really dislikes Pathetic main characters?
I know it's ironic because people indulge in fiction due to wish fulfillment and self insert which is more relatable when the FL/MC is the underdog, like in a pathetic position and then slowly it changes and stuff
Personally I really dislike it
A big reason I read webtoons/novels is again wish fulfilment and trope fulfillment.
Personally I don't find it appealing when the FL starts out as pathetic as in weak or bland character, or she gets cheated on by her husband/boyfriend whatever, I also don't like when she chases after the ML.
I also don't like it when she's considered unremarkable plain blah blah blah by others and the side characters can't believe that a plain Jane MC like her can bag the hot ML
Personally, I'm the opposite. I don't like self-important strong characters.
I find weak characters more interesting or even strong characters that have to pretend to be weak.
Most strong characters ngl follow a really basic outline that can be summed up as badass + depressing past means complicated character or good character. It's annoying to......
