I think that as long as you're not being a problematic person you're free to read whatever you like. If a person reads SL, GL, or BL more than the other, it just means you have a preference. It doesn't automatically mean you should burn in hell because you like one over the other. Like, if you like reading SL more than GL or BL, you're not homophob......   reply

if you read primarily yaoi as a straight woman you ARE fetishizing it. its whatever as long as you dont involve real people but pretty pointless to deny it   3 reply

I’ve been reading bl for awhile but like to me it’s just a genre of manga/manhwa I like because if we really think about it, all manga genres have negative parts of it. Honestly depends on if you fetishized gay men in real life and don’t respect them. I read josei, yuri, and isekai mainly outside of BL and they’re just as problematic.   reply

I don't really see an issue with it. I mostly read BL myself. It's a romance/smut genre with a certain dynamic that straight/GL romance can't provide, and it's okay to have a preference for it. Now, if you fetishize gay people and are just generally acting creepy about it then it's a bit weird. But if you do, I'm gonna assume you're just a teenager......   reply

I like reading mainly bl because of the romance aspect but when im reading a romance between a guy and the girl, i project myself onto the girl and it makes the story a little less appealing to me. Like “oh why would she do that, i wouldnt do that myself” or the dialogue would be very mushy. Mind you the exact same thing happens in bl manga but......   reply
