I don't you're "wrong" per se. I understand your disappointment. However, i think your expectations are not okay. Not everyone expresses themselves in the same way as you do. You deserve for your feelings to be reciprocated since it sounds like ur love language is gifts full stop. It's my love language and I get gifts for everyone, I give flowers and cookies when visiting someone's house, I give b-day gifts, I give gifts to celebrate someone's achievement.
