100% but it’s scary every time

I read yaoi in all sorts of places: at school, in the bus, in restaurants. But, I’m very careful around my parents, just the thought of them finding out is...terrifying. I read around my friends freely because they know that I read yaoi. I just can’t help but always think “what happens in the next chapter” or “what happens in that one manga/manhwa in my ‘want to read’ list”, so I just read. Brightness down and I’m good to go. I try to stay at the back of buses or the corners of a rooms so no one can look from behind me and so I will know if the approach me because they can only walk in front of me. Even BL is scary to read, because as a female that is part of the LGBTQ+, I know that people can be homophobic (directly or indirectly). People in my class are pretty harmless or just would dare hurt me so I am openly gay. But in front parents and strangers, I try to hide. So openly reading things that people can mock me for is scary. But otherwise sure, I gladly do the things I enjoy as freely (and safely) as possible.
