Becaussse Giovannis room and TSOA have already been mentioned, I think you’ll like these too: This is a posthumous work by Pessoa. No story but a series of anecdotes. recently finished mysterious skin and i think it was really good, fair warning though there are a LOT of trigger warnings to keep in mind and it isn’t a happy story at all. also, someone linked it above but you can find practically any book on zlibrary, highly recommend.   1 reply

Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo It's my favorite book and I found it on a list of "hardest books to read", and it was there because of its contents. The book came out in 1938, and it's an anti war book. The story is about an American WWI solider that after being hit by a bomb shell he lost all his limbs and facial features, leaving him trapped......   1 reply

IF YOU LOVE PLOT TWISTS I RECCOMMENT THE POPPY WAR BY R.F. KUANG ITS SO GOOD ITS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE BOOK EVER. if you are looking for sad, it has it. if you are looking for trauma, it has LOADS, and some of the best most unexpected plot twists I've ever read.   1 reply
