think of any good dynamics you like to see in couples (not necessarily BL but all romance) and try to incorporate that in ur characters you can also make up a new dynamic that u think could be interesting for ur characters.
from those dynamics alone u could build ur characters from there, focus on the depth of ur characters since they r the most ......
