The Poppy War trilogy. It’s dense and packed but the characters are beautifully written. The female protagonist is one of the best written characters. She is me I am her. Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier is my all-time favorite book with its Celtic background and fairy tale plot. It may be a longer read with its world-building but it's a wonderful book and left me feeling so bittersweet at the end. Sort of a tragedy but a happy ending overall.
