Opinions on religion
I have a very Christian family and mom but I am an atheist. My mom forces me to go to church services and even read parts of the Bible over and over again until I can act like I’m not repulsed. I try to be as respectful to religion but the way my mom acts makes me resent it. Not only that, but religion is also so heavily linked to hatred for the queer community.
I’m trying to understand other viewpoints and not sound rude. I would like to ask a few questions.
1. Are you religious, do you believe in god(s) or some sort of higher power? - If you are an atheist, do you still have some sort of “spiritual” belief?
2. If you are religious, how do you feel about atheists, do you resent them, wish to convert them, or have no issues whatsoever?
3. If you had a child and they happened to have different opinions how would you treat them? If they showed signs of depression related to you forcing your beliefs on them would you still do so, yell at them, even?
4. (This is mildly unrelated but I’m cutie curious) I heard some people, though reading Bl and/or Gl, have issues with queer people in real life. Is this true, and if you feel that way, why?
Pardon if my grammar is bad, I am not quite good at it.
1) I'm religious but people tend to not think my religon is 'real' because it really isn't that mainstream compared to christianity^^;
2) Athiests are cool in my book! You should be allowed to do whatever you want as long as you're not hurting anyone. Honestly, people shouldn't put their

2) Athiests are cool in my book! You should be allowed to do whatever you want as long as you're not hurting anyone. Honestly, people shouldn't put their
beliefs above other people. That's just wrong. The reason why I'm religion is because 1) I like the beliefs and 2) it's nice to know that something will happen when I pass on.
3) IF I have kids, I think I'd want them to explore the many different religions. All religions have a few good lessons here and there. I think of it as a learning experience.
4) Maybe it was how I was raised, but I have no issues with queer people. My religion is pretty nonchalant about the LGBT community as well....or at least
the transgender community^^;
In my opinion, it's not really the religion that's the issue, but the people who follow it. You can understand the quaran/holy bible/etc in many different ways. Some people use their religion to spread positivity while others take their religion and use it to divide and spread hatred.
I just kinda wanna go into the whole LQBTQ+ topic a little more. Honestly, some of the people who read BL and GL (at least in my opinion) are extremely ignorant of the queer community and their struggles. I think this is because many of these genres (BL is notorious for this) use their platform to promote really warped illustrations of these relationships. I guess it's fine if it's only for fun and everything is a fantasy, but the issue comes where people take that fantasy and turn it into reality. My friend and his boyfriend were just holding hands and this girl popped out of nowhere and started to ask them who was the 'seme' and the 'uke'. It was rude and so disrespectful.
It's fine if you like BL and GL fics but please don't be rude to other queer people. They have enough to deal with!
