I've been wondering this for a while because it seems that more and more abusive BL stories are getting green-lit and getting more traction than ones with healthy and realistic relationships. I'm just trying to figure out what in the hell is going on. Please don't give me the corny stuff like "Good thing it's fictional!" or "Fiction is fiction" It has been proven that fiction can affect the psyche no matter who you are and how good one thinks they are at differentiating the two. I'm just really worried about the people who defend the elements of the story that are supposed to be the negatives. Like how people STILL think that Killing Stalking is a bl after the creator said it wasn't, it was about sick people. This is what concerns me so much about the modern state of BL, people taking elements of abuse as expressions of love. Am I going crazy or what?
Cuz people love gassing up anything as long as it has smut when it's just abuse under the pretence "dark romance".

I think because negative attention is what keeps the mangas/manhwas relevant on social media the algorithms just love promoting hate and people generally engage with hate/toxicity/"cringey" things more. Think about it? how many times has a post of a genuinely good bl story gone viral as compared to the toxic edits/ or even the posts criticising the...... reply
