How did you tell your parent you liked yaoi/yuri

Like most of the people who responded to this question...I didn't. BUT, I also didn't grow up having a cell phone that could connect to the internet or a personal laptop until I wasn't living with them anymore. So, that put a limit on when and where I could look at yaoi/BL manga--late at night (weekends usually) and when no one was around. I would often clear the History as well after looking at them, and then fill it up with some innocuous things like recipes or those dollmaking sites (I loved those!).
Plus, there wasn't a whole bunch of manga available, or, rather, a site like this one to host it all in one place. Sometimes you would have to hunt down a link from someone's LiveJournal or whatever and then download it...it sounds exhausting now and it was exhausting back then. So, I mostly stuck to fanfiction, it was easier to find and it was easier to disguise as something else ("Just a story/an assignment/an article"). It wasn't until I discovered webcomics (English language) that I had to become more sneaky/mindful of my surroundings.
Plus, my parents were not nosy and I don't think, even to this day, that they have ever snooped through my room or possessions.

If you're afraid your parents are going to find out, then become more aware of where you are when you're looking at it. If you're on your phone right in front of them, then of course they're going to ask what you are doing. Maybe wait until you have some privacy, or some free time, to look to your heart's content without worrying. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
