More "pan-fried" than "deep-fried" here, but bannock comes to mind! It may have European routes, idk, but in Canada it's an indigenous flatbread/quick bread and it's sooooooo good! You can top it with whatever you want, but my favorite is butter, cinnamon, and sugar~
