Fried dumplings or fritters (fritters are typically flat, while dumplings are round fried dough made with a rising agent) - Jamaica. Fritters are usually Saltfish Fritters. Panada! it's usually filled spicy and savory fish filling, but people can substitute it with different meat. i like it extra extra spicy! indonesian likes it spicy~ heheh (⌒▽⌒)   1 reply

More "pan-fried" than "deep-fried" here, but bannock comes to mind! It may have European routes, idk, but in Canada it's an indigenous flatbread/quick bread and it's sooooooo good! You can top it with whatever you want, but my favorite is butter, cinnamon, and sugar~   1 reply
