Good art bad writing
Has anyone noticed that recently there has been a flood of manhwas with good arts, good overall plot idea but the writing is just awful. Like the characters have no real personality, lots of nonsensical stuff happening, lots of self inserting, bad and cringe dialogues, everything is going too fast it’s hard to follow and root for the characters bc you barely know them, no build-ups. No nothing except good arts. We still have good stories but I just hate to see good arts wasted in a bad story.
I’m mostly talking about straight romance. I’m not that much into bl but I think there is the same issue.
I guess manhwas becoming more popular they don’t bother with the writing and just try to get as much stories as they can to make money and with the popularity of kpop they just have to insert it in so many stories even if it’s unfitting. And I actually forgot about that but what the hell is that thing of trying to insert kpop in so many stories like we get it and it’s always cringe and in those self-insert stories. Idk if the authors are fans or if they just want to attract the fans.
Anyways I’m complaining but I’ll read anything with good arts…
Yeah I guess it's because authors are more focused on making a story rather than it being good. Looks better on their resume or whatever. To be fair, it is hard trying out new stuff in this sort of market, so authors just stick to what sells the most.
Also there's no real reason to actually change when people will read anything as long as it looks......
