I used to love this anime when I was little but now that I went back and re watched it its a fucking disgusting image of romance to put in a young girls mind also Misaki and Usui are POS.
Here's Why!
The whole show is SEXIST!!
Usui sexually assaults Misaki this we all know and always makes it a point out shes a woman because she doesn't act like a "woman" which is weird
Misaki is sexist, prejudice, and abusive. She discriminated and hated the boys just because her dad left her. She used her platform as the council president to abuse them and ripped out a boys earring because he wasn't following dress code
The fans just support this bitch like shes just amazing and some icon

They haven’t aged much for me, but my siblings, friends and I were very aware of character flaws & relationship red flags. In other words, when I rewatch them they are usually as I remember, or less “problematic” than I remember because I’m better at picking up on what character saying ≠ what narrative is saying.
yeah its so true ive recently rewatched OHSHC, and boy i completely forgot how utterly transphobic and homophobic tamaki was like it actually made me irk (that and the random twincest)

I really got into manga right when I was about to turn 18, so not super young, but also not all grown up (out brains don’t really mature till about age 25), but even at 18, I didn’t care for most shojo because I’ve always had a thing about romances making sense to me and most shojo couples are very disparaging and make no sense. I never read Maid-sama and i can’t remember exactly why I never got interested since at least superficially Misaki being a “strong female lead”, would have caught my attention.
So true, thats why i dropped the show before finishing it
I agree shoujo animes back in the day were good when we were young then as you get older you realize how messed up there are.
bro this is facts but damn the whole anime is such nostalgia for me cause it was my 1st one............and also I can excuse misaki's behaviour a bit cause girl was 16 and that age makes u think and stupid! usui cant be redeemed lmao
