I think you’re feeling some dissonance because of the difference between you and the character. It doesn’t feel right because no matter what, you can’t look like them and there are so few characters that look like us.
I think you might need to cosplay the vibe instead of the character if that makes sense. Kind of like when girls cosplay mal......
