It's really annoying and misleading. I honestly don't know if it's the straight x gay trope, the I like girls but I love you (a guy) cliché or just the authors genuinly not knowing/caring about sexuality. and the trope of "I didn't know I liked men before I met you". Bitch. You don't need to fuck a man to be attracted to them. If a 40 years old man tells you that he didn't know that he liked men before he tried it out, he lies through his teeth. It's annoying because it seems to be the rule and not the exception. People are very misguided when it comes to sexuality, especially in oppressed societies like the Asian ones usually are.
