I'm one of these people who say that exact sentence, but it can be said for different situations and circumstances. In my case, I say it because I see many couples and families break up and get divorces, while in the past they would have tried more for their families. Depends on the place you live cuz there sure are alot of countries that have no regard to the rights of (black or poc, queer ppl especially trans ppl and non religious folks who make a pretty good argument for why they should have their rights and be respected).
