What's y'all's opinion on transgender representation in manga/manhwa?

Alright, so slightly unpopular opinion coming in here (especially based on the responses to this question thus far) but I feel like a lot of people are confusing the whole "trans" thing when it comes to how it's represented in manga/manhwa/webtoons/etc. I also think ppl who complain that there's no or only very bad rep of it in manga/manhwa don't a......   reply

Unfortunately its usually only well done in mangas written by trans people themselves, otherwise they range from ok through cringe all the way to abysmal (´;︵;`)   reply

I would say it's a case by case scenario. There are manga with great representation, manga with ok representation, manga where you can at least see the good intentions the mangaka had, and then there are manga that truly belong in the trash lol I would say manga that targets a mainly female demographic tend to have interesting explorations of gende......   1 reply
