Unpopular BL opinions

Pretty much all of the smutty BL webcomics that are popular are overrated. There are some good ass BL manga with realistic representation that get shit on in the ratings by homophobes and because its not an unrealistic sexual harassment fest most fujoshi don’t care about the manga either.   1 reply

Its really annoying that a lot of good bl gets buried under the overated trash that gets really popular for no reason. *cough cough* Jinx, BJ Alex, Love Shuttle, Kiss Me Liar, Yours to Claim , and like hundreds of short mangas, all of these being filled with rape, smut overload and unnecessary toxicity. I don't like it when they use heteronormative terms like "pussy" "vagina" "womb" "wife" "girlfriend" and the only reason why people read those shitty popular bl manhwas is because of the good artstyle, how handsome the mls are ignoring their red flags and romanticizes their extreme possessiveness to the point I think majority of the bls should be ......   4 reply

Why do most authors use traumas and rape-y shit as a plot point and just shrug it off in the following chapters like it never happened? like?? suddenly he was fine after all that shit that happened in his past? was it just a filler? a plot point? AND the romanticisation please. Keep it only in fiction. Rape, sexual assault and abuse isnt romantic.......   reply

To be honest I don’t care about realism in BL any more than I do in shoujo or GL or anything else. I read a lot of bl and I do read the toxic ones but some of them are like straight out drops like Jinx, which i couldn't take more than 2 chapters without hating the dude, or car crashes that i kept reading out of morbid curiosity like kiss me, liar that progressively worsens as chapters go by.
