BL vs Yaoi

ok so this is information ive been bottling up. if you’re wondering what they actually mean. read this.

theres NO difference to yaoi and bl. they mean the same thing. yaoi doesnt mean nsfw or fetishization. it means boys love (in the 1900s). yaoi is an outdated term, meaning its an old word that people in japan dont use anymore. it simply referred to m/m doujinshis. japan rebranded the term yaoi to boys love (BL) but we westernized the term in mangago. people now think yaoi means fetishization or nsfw gay romance. which isnt the case. its better not to say yaoi and instead say explicit BL or nsfw BL! it isnt a big deal but its preferred rhat we don’t change the origin of japanese terms to change them to our liking. so if anyones telling you that yaoi is fetishization. tell them to shut up.
